In terms of age and occupation, the majority—2,924,643 individuals (65.79%)—fall within the 18 to 34 age range, while 1,112,344 individuals (25.02%) identify as students.

As of Friday, September 12, the total of completed online pre-registrations and in-person registrations stands at 509,929, with 229,758 (45.06%) being male and 280,171 (54.94%) being female. Among these registrants, 378,132 (74.15%) are young people aged 18 to 34, and 196,529 (38.54%) are students.

Mr. Olumekun highlighted that a comprehensive breakdown of both online and physical registrations by state, gender, age, occupation, and disability status has been made available on the INEC website and other official channels for public access.

He also announced that the online voter pre-registration process in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) concluded on Monday, September 15. In the following two weeks, physical registration will take place at designated venues. Subsequently, from September 29 to October 8, the commission will extend registration efforts to all 62 wards within the FCT. Detailed information regarding the registration centers has been published on INEC’s official platforms.
