The Sokoto state chapter of Joint National Association of
Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), has passionately appealed to the state government for fair consideration and inclusion in the upcoming recruitment
Though JONAPWD through their state Chairman, Mu’azu Habibu, and Secretary, Mukhtari Sani Doki, admitted that Sokoto state government is concerned about them, they however added that, their
inclusion in the upcoming government appointments will uphold their rights as guaranteed by the discrimination against persons with disabilities act.
While noting the decision to recruit 3000 youths into the state civil service was a welcome development, JONAPWD said that will reduce unemployment and empower youths across the state.
In their plea for employment consideration, JONAPWD urged the Sokoto state government to consider the 5 percent special consideration for those with special needs in line with the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act 2018.
