According to a statement issued by Army spokesperson Appolonia Anele on Thursday in Abuja, Lt.-Gen. Oluyede indicated that immediate and improved strategies are being put in place to avert further incidents that have resulted in loss of life and property.

He encouraged community members to collaborate with security forces in combating banditry and reaffirmed the army’s dedication to the welfare of its personnel, promising enhanced operational resources to facilitate their missions effectively.

In his response, the acting governor praised the army for its dedication and prompt action in addressing security issues. He assured continued governmental support for security agencies, highlighting the state’s significant investments in this area.

Governor Jobe also expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his steadfast commitment to the security of both Katsina and the nation.

During his visit, the COAS received an operational briefing at the 17 Brigade Headquarters, Natsinta Barracks, where he commended the troops for their commitment and assured them of improved logistical support.

Additionally, he inspected Forward Operating Bases at Federal University Dutsinma, Safana, and Malumfashi, urging soldiers to intensify operations against bandits and other criminal elements within their jurisdictions.
