The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has established itself as a pivotal force in Nigerian politics as the 2027 general elections approach, asserting that the electorate has already indicated the path they wish the nation to follow.

During the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the National Leader of the NNPP, emphasized the party’s willingness to form alliances, while underscoring that the NNPP is a collective entity belonging to all Nigerians rather than a select few.

“We are open and prepared to engage with anyone interested in collaborating for the 2027 elections,” Kwankwaso stated. “However, it is crucial to understand that this party is not solely mine, nor the chairman’s, or just for those present here—it belongs to all Nigerians.

“Everyone is welcome to join us. Conversely, while we prefer that no one departs, if an individual chooses to leave, there is little we can do but continue our efforts. We appreciate our dedicated members nationwide for their loyalty and commitment, and I assure you that our leadership will remain steadfast. We are committed to fairness.”

He noted that the NNPP is making significant progress due to its dedication to equity and inclusivity, emphasizing that any future alliances or negotiations will be conducted collectively on behalf of the party.

Kwankwaso also pointed out the escalating socio-economic issues in Nigeria, highlighting how poverty and insecurity have underscored the importance of the NNPP. “Poverty is pervasive in our nation. Many communities are unable to access farms or markets, and schools have been abandoned. These are pressing concerns,” he remarked.

In a goodwill message, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, represented by Deputy Governor Aminu Abdus Salam Gwarzo, expressed support for Kwankwaso’s leadership and acknowledged his contributions to fortifying the party.

Earlier, Dr. Ajuji Ahmed, the National Chairman of the NNPP, referred to the NNPP as the “beautiful bride of Nigerian politics,” noting its status as the most sought-after platform in the lead-up to 2027.

He articulated that the party’s manifesto, rooted in progressive ideology and the welfare of citizens, distinguishes it from others.

Ahmed assured members that the NEC would address forthcoming congresses, the national convention, electoral reforms, and strategies for mass mobilization.

He also encouraged Nigerians to take advantage of the ongoing continuous voter registration conducted by INEC. “With your PVC, you possess the power to elect credible leaders who will fulfill the needs and aspirations of the populace,” he concluded.
