Apostle Chuks Alozie, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, has expressed his condolences to the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentaw Goshwe Yilwatda, following the death of his mother, Mama Lydia Yilwatda.
In a heartfelt message, Alozie described Mama Lydia’s passing as a significant loss to Professor Nentaw and the Yilwatda family, noting the outpouring of tributes from family, friends, and community members.
Alozie highlighted Mama Lydia’s legacy of peace, love, and care, stating that she was a wise adviser to her children and those around her. Her life, he said, was marked by compassion and dedication to her community.
Mama Lydia, alongside her late husband, Reverend T. Goshewe Yilwatda, devotedly spread God’s word through the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) across Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, and Plateau States, Alozie noted.
He praised Professor Nentaw as a reflection of Mama Lydia’s commitment to nurturing strong values, which have translated into his leadership qualities. Alozie urged the family to uphold these virtues in honour of her memory.
While acknowledging the deep loss, Alozie encouraged the family not to grieve excessively, emphasising that Mama Lydia lived a fulfilled life and has returned to her maker.
Mama Lydia Yilwatda passed away on Sunday, 17 August 2025, at the age of 83, after a brief illness.
