In a significant show of political solidarity and loyalty to party leadership, Brigadier General Simon Katunku Gora (rtd.), a leading contender for the Zangon-Kataf/Jaba Federal House of Representatives seat, with other APC party loyalists and stakeholders today paid a congratulatory visit to the newly elected National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda at the party office in Abuja. The visit which highlighted not just a symbolic act of goodwill but a strategic reaffirmation of commitment to the core ideals of the APC.
Gen. Gora, known for his discipline, leadership acumen and unwavering dedication to grassroots mobilisation, used the visit to express both personal and collective enthusiasm over Prof. Nentawe’s appointment, describing it as a well-calculated move to reposition the APC for greater national impact.

The newly inaugurated APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, warmly received Gen. Gora and his entourage, appreciating the thoughtfulness of their visit. In his welcome remarks, Prof. Yilwatda expressed profound gratitude for the overwhelming support and encouragement he has received from party members across the country since his election.
“I am truly honoured by your presence here today,” Prof. Yilwatda remarked. “It gives me great joy to see our leaders rallying in unity and support. It strengthens my resolve to provide visionary, transparent and inclusive leadership for the APC as we navigate through these critical times.”
Prof. Yilwatda also assured his visitors that his leadership would be one driven by principles, integrity, and service to the nation. He noted that the party’s success depends on collaboration, internal democracy, and responsiveness to the needs of the Nigerian people.
Speaking during the visit, Gen. Gora lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC National Working Committee for their foresight in choosing a leader of Prof. Nentawe’s calibre one he described as a seasoned administrator with a deep understanding of governance and political management.
“The emergence of Prof. Nentawe as our party’s National Chairman is not only a win for the APC but also a win for Nigeria,” Gen. Gora stated. “His proven track record in leadership, academic excellence, and administrative brilliance positions him to move the party forward and consolidate on the gains of democracy.”
Gen. Gora also praised the APC under President Tinubu’s administration for its reform-driven agenda and commitment to national development. He noted that the party remains the only vehicle through which Nigeria’s potential can be fully harnessed for the collective good of all citizens.
In his closing remarks, Gen. Gora urged Nigerians, especially party faithful in Kaduna State and beyond, to rally behind Sen. Uba Sani, APC and support President Tinubu’s administration. “We must come together as one people and support the efforts of the APC government to build a more prosperous, secure and inclusive Nigeria,” he said. “Now is the time to put personal interests aside and work collectively for national progress.”
