Strong indications have emerged suggesting that the New Nigerian Development Company (NNDC) may have abandoned atleast 204 beneficiaries and hijacked statutory deductions.

The Northern States Governors Forum in May gave approval for the payment of NNN beneficiaries.

Investigations revealed that shortly after paying the first and second batches a litany of bureaucracies were introduced by NNDC.
An insider source who begged for anonymity for fear of victimisation by NNDC said “I am a beneficiary who is yet to receive my payment, I was told that my name is among the 3rd batch I have met a requirements set up by the NNDC; from submitting passport, signing indemnity form indicatingI have been paid already, submitting my BVN, accounts details yet nothing has dropped into my accounts.”

Already devastated NNN workers whose colleagues totalling about 111 have passed away in vain, while waiting for years to receive their entitlements, have begun to express grave concerns over the confusion they’ve been thrown into. They’ve waited since 2006 when the NNN was returned to the 19 Northern States by the Federal Government, going through excrutiating experiences before succeeding in arriving at the point of payment.

A lot of unconfirmed funny stories have allegedly characterised the sales as well as NNDC’s consequent foot dragging in releasing the money has casted doubts in the minds of so many whether money is actually available.
