The member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, Hon. Dan Amos, on Wednesday engaged members of the Southern Kaduna Journalists’ Forum (SKJF) in a media parley where he reeled out key achievements and addressed lingering challenges in his constituency.

Speaking at his constituency office in Kafanchan, headquarters of Jema’a Local Government Area, Amos underscored the importance of periodic media engagements, describing them as crucial for accountability and deepening democracy.

The lawmaker highlighted interventions in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and youth empowerment across Jema’a and Sanga local government areas, describing the efforts as “modest yet strategic.”

“Despite economic constraints and political bottlenecks, we’ve managed to deliver projects that reflect the real priorities of our people. Education, road infrastructure, and job creation remain top on my agenda,” he said.

Amos raised concerns over the persistent insecurity in Southern Kaduna, calling for stronger collaboration between the state government, security agencies, and local communities to stem the tide of violence.

“We cannot build when lives are lost daily. I’ve consistently raised the issue of insecurity on the floor of the National Assembly and will continue to push until peace is restored,” he said.

Elanza News reports that the media parley came shortly after Amos marked his two-year anniversary in office with the donation of four tricycles, two truckloads of fertilizer, and 3,000 bags of rice to constituents.

Chairman of the Forum, Mr. Ango Bally, commended the lawmaker’s openness and urged continuous issue-based engagement between the media and public officials for the region’s progress.

The interaction formed part of Amos’ midterm outreach to update constituents and gather feedback ahead of the remaining legislative years.
