The decision follows Governor Uba Sani’s revocation of all previous sales of institutional houses in these legacy schools, citing overriding public interest. The move aims to preserve the educational environment of these institutions.

In a statement issued on April 22, 2025, the state government pledged to process refunds for affected buyers. The process is now set to commence, with clear guidelines for claimants.

Dr. Abdulkadir Mu’azu Meyerevu, Secretary to the State Government, confirmed that cheques will be available for collection at the Secretariat of the Sale of Non-Essential Government Houses, Hassan Usman Katsina House, Kawo.

Beneficiaries are required to present evidence of payment, a valid ID, bank details, a recent account statement, and two passport photographs to claim their refunds.

The government emphasized its commitment to creating a conducive learning atmosphere in schools, aligning with its broader goal of boosting human capital development.

This initiative reflects Kaduna State’s efforts to prioritize education and ensure public institutions remain focused on their core mandates.
