Ahmed is expected to steer the operations of the initiative, which aims to ease the economic burden caused by the removal of fuel subsidies.

The PCNGi is one of the core components of the federal government’s palliative measures and seeks to promote cheaper, cleaner, and more sustainable energy alternatives for Nigerians.

At 45, Ahmed brings a blend of legal and diplomatic experience to the role. He studied Law at the University of Abuja and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2006.

He later pursued a master’s degree in international relations, communications, and diplomacy at Webster University, Missouri, in the United States.

Ahmed previously served in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari as the senior special assistant on the National Social Investment Programme from 2018 to 2022.

His appointment signals the Tinubu administration’s commitment to energy transition and social impact through strategic leadership.
