In a bold move to restore peace in Taraba State, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commander of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, led a dynamic two-day operation from the Forward Operating Base Wukari on June 19-20, 2025. Targeting notorious bandit camps in Wukari and Takum Local Government Areas, the troops executed a meticulous clearance mission.

On June 19, the soldiers scoured villages like Lortema and Teyotima, searching for criminal hideouts. Although no suspects were apprehended in Teyotima, the operation shifted to Ikayior, where a bandit camp was dismantled, and 14 rounds of ammunition were seized.

The following day, operations in Takum LGA led to a confrontation at Mande Atsager, the hideout of a notorious bandit leader. Engaging in a firefight, the troops forced the bandits to flee, uncovering a disturbing site with detention cells and a shrine linked to criminal activities. Brigadier General Uwa commended the troops for their efforts and stressed the importance of community cooperation in the fight against crime.
