In a strong display of leadership and dedication to peaceful coexistence, the Chairperson of Jaba Local Government Area, Hon. Larai Sylvia Ishaku, alongside her Vice Chairman, Honourable Mustapha Danladi Babaladi, attended a pivotal farmers-herders dialogue meeting held at Daddu, Jaba LGA.

The meeting aimed at resolving tensions between farmers and herders in the area, sought to build a foundation of mutual respect, collaboration and to promote constructive dialogue and address longstanding concerns within the region, where disputes over farmers and herders have occasionally led to friction. Hon. Ishaku called for greater unity among farmers and herders, underlining the importance of maintaining peace to ensure community progress.

Hon. Ishaku’s presence and active participation at the event reflected her administration’s deep commitment to fostering peace and promoting inclusive governance. Her leadership approach, grounded in accessibility and community empowerment, has brought new hope to many in the region.

During the meeting, Hon. Ishaku delivered a compelling message emphasising the need for tolerance, lawfulness, and shared responsibility. She stated, “As a community, we must live as one. We should tolerate each other, respect the law, and protect our shared wealth and properties across Jaba LGA and beyond.”

She further highlighted the importance of community dialogue in bridging gaps and resolving disputes. By advocating for open discussions, Hon. Ishaku underscored how community-led initiatives can foster lasting peace and development. “We should learn more to communicate positively for peace to thrive” Hon. Ishaku Advised.

The local community leaders expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Ishaku for initiating this timely engagement and for her unwavering support in bringing together groups that have historically had strained relations. They praised Hon. Ishaku for promoting peace, transparency and unity at the grassroots level.

In a show of goodwill, both farmer and herder representatives pledged their full support for peaceful coexistence moving forward. They acknowledged that cooperation, rather than conflict, would safeguard their livelihoods and ensure long-term development in Jaba LGA.

The event is part of a broader vision of Hon. Ishaku to establish a sustainable peace framework in Jaba LGA. Through ongoing community engagement, dispute mediation, and support for traditional conflict resolution methods, the local government is working tirelessly to create a future where all residents regardless of occupation or background can thrive in peace.Elanzanews report.
