The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has officially endorsed a new passenger-centric solution developed by a consortium to mitigate travel challenges, particularly those arising from operational and weather-related disruptions.

The innovative “Propel Reprotection System” is a cutting-edge platform designed to facilitate the smooth re-protection of passengers by Nigerian airlines during flight disruptions. This system allows airlines to transfer passengers to available flights operated by partner airlines, ensuring both revenue preservation and heightened passenger satisfaction.

Captain Chris Ona Najomo, the NCAA Director General, praised the collaborative achievements of three industry leaders who have come together to enhance air travel efficiency. This consortium includes Aviation Assist Hub, Aviation Technology Solutions (Avitech), and Leadway Assurance, each contributing to the creation of this transformative platform.

Mr. Micheal Achimugu, representing the NCAA, reaffirmed the commitment to reducing flight disruptions, emphasizing that passengers must receive services that meet global best practices.

Currently, several domestic carriers are engaging with the promoters to integrate the Propel System, which aims to significantly diminish flight delays and foster passenger confidence in Nigerian airlines.

The pilot rollout is scheduled for August, heralding a new era in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
