On this momentous day, prominent figures across the nation extended heartfelt congratulations to Nigerians, commending them for their unwavering commitment to democracy. Among them, is the respected political figure Brigadier General. Simon Katunku Gora (rtd) offered his warmest wishes, hailing the occasion as a victory for all citizens.

In his Democracy Day message, Gen. Gora urged all citizens to unite as one family and respect the rule of law and remain law-abiding. He highlighted the importance of integrity, discipline, and respect for the nation’s legal framework, stating that these values are fundamental pillars of a strong and thriving democracy.

“Every citizen has a role to play in safeguarding Nigeria’s democracy. Being law-abiding is not only a duty but a demonstration of our collective commitment to national growth and unity,” he said.

Gen. Gora also noted that Nigeria’s journey has not been without challenges, but the nation’s perseverance continues to shine through. He further encouraged all Nigerians to embrace their role as peace ambassadors, working to maintain harmony and national unity regardless of ethnic, religious, or political differences.

“Our strength lies in our unity,” he said. “Let us reject all forces of division and stand together to build a peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous Nigeria.”
