Prominent economic experts, government officials, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, policymakers, and professionals are set to gather in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, for the 100 Most Notable Africans Leadership and Business Summit 2025.

The summit, scheduled to take place from 4th to 6th July at the Marriott Hotel in Kigali, aims to promote discussions on Africa’s economic development, governance, investment opportunities, and sustainable growth, as stated by the organisers, the 100 Most Notable Peace Icons in Africa.

The event aims to highlight and celebrate the achievements and contributions of African leaders and businesses, inspiring future generations while fostering a positive image of Africa on the global stage.

At a press conference in Abuja, Nigeria, the Project Director for Africa at the 100 Most Notable Peace Icons in Africa, Amb. Dr. Kingsley Amafibe, expressed his admiration for the selected Africans who made the prestigious Peace Icon list. He noted that the summit encourages cross-border initiatives that allow nations to share best practices in areas such as agriculture, education, and health.

According to the organisers, the summit is expected to drive positive change and economic growth initiatives that promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and strengthen governance and education throughout the African continent.

Among those to be honoured are Egyptian football star Mohamed Salah, Africa’s wealthiest man Alhaji Aliko Dangote, music icons Burna Boy, Tems, Bruce Melodie, Diamond Platnumz, industrialist Tony Elumelu, renowned investor Femi Otedola, DG WTO Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of Coza Global, Victor Osimhen, H.E. Malam Umar Namadi, Governor of Jigawa State, and His Excellency, Rt Hon Dennis Idahosa, Deputy Governor of Edo State, among many others.

The summit will also advocate for policy reforms and initiatives that promote good governance, transparency, and accountability in both the public and private sectors across Africa.

The event will support startups, innovators, and small businesses by providing mentorship and access to markets, while also implementing community-based projects focused on education, healthcare, environmental conservation, and youth empowerment in collaboration with local and international partners and NGOs. Leadership development workshops, executive training programmes, and mentorship opportunities will be offered to empower emerging leaders and entrepreneurs.

“Today, we celebrate trailblazers shaping Africa’s future, capturing the attention of leaders and business executives across the continent,” stated Amafibe.

“There is an urgent need for visionary leadership, strategic governance, transparency, and partnerships to drive positive change and unlock the continent’s full potential,” he added.

Among other confirmed participants are Munyakazi Sadate, Chief Executive Officer of Karame Rwanda, Prof Haruna Musa, Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board in Jigawa State, and various other distinguished figures from different sectors.

Discussions at the summit will centre around governance reforms, business capacity development, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and human capital development, all aimed at creating jobs and empowering youth throughout Africa.
