The All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth and Student Movement has warmly welcomed the defection of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling APC.
In a statement on Friday, the group’s National Coordinator, Comrade Olamide Odumosu, described the governor’s decision as “bold” and “patriotic”, commending his commitment to the development of Akwa Ibom and Nigeria at large.
“It is with immense joy and pride that we welcome Governor Eno into the progressive fold,” Odumosu said.
“Your alignment with the APC is a testament to your dedication to the growth and prosperity of our people.”
The group praised Eno’s leadership under the ARISE Agenda, highlighting rural road projects, healthcare expansion, educational reforms, and agricultural development across the 31 local government areas of the state.
According to the group, Governor Eno’s synergy with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has already brought visible gains, such as progress on the Ibom Deep Seaport and the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway—projects aligned with the APC’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The movement also used the occasion to declare full support for President Tinubu’s second-term bid in 2027.
“Your visionary leadership has set Nigeria on a path of economic renewal, infrastructure development, and inclusive governance,” Odumosu stated.
“We proudly endorse your re-election bid.”
The youth group pledged to mobilise nationwide in support of the APC’s agenda and President Tinubu’s continued leadership.
“As the heartbeat of the nation, Nigerian youths stand ready to galvanise support for a future where opportunities abound and every citizen thrives,” the group affirmed.
“Long live Akwa Ibom! Long live the APC! Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!”
