In a proactive move to bolster youth involvement in local development, Hon. Mustapha Danladi Babaladi, the Vice Chairman of Jaba Local Government Area (LGA), has formally recognised a newly formed cooperative aimed at youth mobilisation. At a well-attended event yesterday in Jaba LGA, the Vice Chairman presented a certificate of registration to the Central Working Committee (CWC), a youth-led organisation dedicated to unity, cooperation, and local growth.

Which reflects a broader commitment from the leadership of Jaba LGA to foster community development and ensure that young people are actively engaged in shaping their future. The registered cooperative, Central Working Committee on Youth Mobilisation, is expected to serve as a platform for dialogue, action, and advocacy among young citizens across the region.

The official registration of the Central Working Committee marks a significant achievement for the youth of Jaba Local Government Area. It symbolises recognition at an official level and provides a structured framework for youth-led projects, capacity-building programmes, and local initiatives that can improve community welfare.

Addressing the energetic gathering of youths during the official presentation, Hon. Babaladi stressed the importance of unity among the members of the cooperative. He highlighted that collective effort, shared purpose, and a strong sense of identity are critical to achieving sustainable development not just for the group, but for Jaba as a whole.

He urged the members of the CWC to set an example by working collaboratively towards meaningful goals that reflect the aspirations of the youth population. According to the Vice Chairman, “When young people come together under a shared vision, there is no limit to what they can achieve. The establishment of this cooperative is a landmark step in the right direction.”

The Vice Chairman also reiterated the local government’s unwavering support for youth development initiatives, stressing that the registration of the cooperative was not just a formality, but a foundation for long-term success.

Hon. Babaladi further encouraged other local government areas to adopt similar youth-focused policies, emphasising the long-term benefits of youth empowerment. By investing in leadership development, entrepreneurship training, and community engagement, the government can tap into the potential of youth as a driving force for national progress.

The cooperative’s members expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Vice Chairman for facilitating the registration process. They acknowledged his leadership and willingness to listen to the voices of the younger generation. Speaking on behalf of the group, a spokesperson said, “We are immensely grateful to Hon. Mustapha Danladi Babaladi for believing in our cause and helping us secure official recognition. This will open doors for collaboration, development projects, and external partnerships.”

The newly registered body now holds the legal capacity to organise formal activities, receive funding, engage with governmental and non-governmental agencies, and contribute meaningfully to youth empowerment efforts in Jaba LGA, Kaduna State and Nigeria at large.

Lastly, the members of the cooperative also expressed profound gratitude to the local government authorities for their support. The emotional tone of the event was underscored by the unity and excitement among the youth, who viewed the day not just as a celebration, but as the beginning of a transformative journey.

One of the youth leaders remarked, “We now have a platform to be heard and to act. This is a new dawn for youth in Jaba LGA.”
