The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has declared that the 2025 Arafah sermon will be broadcast live in Hausa, Yoruba, Fulani, along with 34 other languages.

This development will allow pilgrims and listeners worldwide to engage with the sermon in their own languages, as indicated by the authorities.

“The Hajj Khutbah 1446 will be translated into 34 languages on Thursday, 9 Dhul Hijjah 1446,” the communication states.

“The languages include Arabic, Urdu, English, French, Indonesian, Persian (Farsi), Hausa, Chinese (Mandarin), Russian, Bengali, Turkish, Malay (Bahasa Melayu), Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, Filipino (Tagalog), Amharic (Ethiopia), Bosnian, Hindi, Dutch, Thai, Malayalam, Swahili, Pashto, Tamil, Azerbaijani, Swedish, Uzbek, Albanian, Fulani (Fula), Somali, Rohingya, and Yoruba.”

The aim of the broadcast is to spread Islam’s message of tolerance to a diverse audience in their native tongues, enhancing communication between Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

On 27 May, the Kingdom confirmed the sighting of the Dhul Hijjah crescent, marking 5 June as the Day of Arafat, with Eid-el-Kabir to be celebrated on 6 June.”
