In a bid to enhance disaster management and community preparedness, the Vice Chairman of Jaba Local Government Area (LGA), Hon. Mustapha Danladi Babaladi, represented Hon. Larai Sylvia Ishaku, the Chairperson of Jaba LGA, at a strategic meeting with the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA). The collaborative meeting, which held yesterday was to strengthen emergency response at the grassroots level, marks a pivotal step in promoting safety and resilience within the communities of Jaba and the Kaduna State at large.

During the session, Hon. Mustapha took the opportunity to commend the relentless efforts of KADSEMA. He extended heartfelt appreciation to the agency’s leadership and staff, acknowledging their commitment to supporting local governments across Kaduna State in times of crisis.

He highlighted that KADSEMA’s consistent and proactive approach to emergency response has made a significant difference in managing disasters and preventing further escalation during crises. The Vice Chairman also expressed his gratitude on behalf of the people of Jaba LGA, noting that such partnerships between local authorities and state agencies are essential to community safety and development.

KADSEMA’s Executive Secretary, Hon. Usman Hayatu Mazadu, responded with assurance of the agency’s unwavering dedication. He emphasised that the core mission of KADSEMA is to not only respond effectively during emergencies but also to educate and empower grassroots communities in disaster prevention and recovery strategies.

He revealed that KADSEMA has been working closely with local governments to establish early warning systems, build capacity through training, and develop robust emergency protocols.

“We will help the people at the grassroot to eradicate and also support them in terms of emergency and disaster needs” Hon. Mazadu stated. Which efforts are all part of the agency’s comprehensive plan to reduce vulnerability and improve the overall safety net for the people of Kaduna State.

The Executive Secretary also used the occasion to extend his appreciation to His Excellency, Governor Uba Sani, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State. He acknowledged the Governor’s unwavering support and the enabling environment provided to agencies like KADSEMA to function efficiently and deliver on their mandates.

Additionally, he lauded Hon. Larai Sylvia Ishaku, Chairperson of Jaba LGA, for her consistent support and cooperation with the agency. According to Hon. Mazadu, such backing from local government leadership plays a vital role in ensuring that emergency management policies and interventions are successfully executed.

Jaba LGA has pledged to support the initiatives by ensuring that local residents are informed, trained, and equipped to handle emergencies to safeguard their neighbourhood.
