A coalition of youth groups from Southern Nigeria has launched a campaign backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, asserting that four years is insufficient for the president to entrench his reforms and tackle entrenched corruption.

The Coalition Of Southern Nigeria Youths Groups For Asiwaju 2027 (COSONYGA-2027) made the declaration on Friday during its official launch in Abuja.

Addressing journalists, the group’s Executive Director, Rt. Hon. Rikki Nwajiofor, praised Tinubu’s leadership as “policy-backed, action-driven, and results-oriented,” saying his Renewed Hope Agenda has laid a foundation for a modern Nigeria.

“A four-year tenure is not enough to entrench life-changing policies and uproot the stenching corrupt practices that have held our great nation backwards,” Nwajiofor said.

He described the coalition as a youth-led movement committed to continuity and inclusive progress, urging young people across the southern states to rally behind the president’s second term bid.

“This Coalition is our pledge, our declaration, and our commitment to continuity and youth-driven progress. We are not waiting for the future — we are building it,” he declared.

COSONYGA-2027 said its mission extends beyond politics, positioning itself as a strategic platform for civic education, youth empowerment, and grassroots mobilisation.

“We called on stakeholders in the public and private sectors, civil society, and development partners to support efforts aimed at deepening political education and boosting youth entrepreneurship.

“We invite all progressive-minded youths across Southern Nigeria and beyond to join this movement — to organise, to educate, and to advocate. This is our time,” Nwajiofor added.

The coalition said it will leverage digital advocacy, grassroots engagement, and strategic policy interventions to secure robust youth participation in the 2027 electoral process.

Nwajiofor emphasised that the movement will remain non-confrontational and inclusive, rejecting tribal and religious polarisation while championing Tinubu’s achievements through “superior presentation of facts.”

“Today, we are not just launching a group — we are igniting a movement. A movement built on vision, legacy, and continuity,” he said .
