Engineer Musa Nimrod, President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), has been honoured with the prestigious title of Authentic Man of the Year 2024.

The recognition came during the 10th edition of the Authentic News Daily Awards and Lecture, held at the historic Arewa House in Kaduna on Saturday, May 10.

Represented by Samaila Usman, the Manager of Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Nimrod expressed gratitude for the award, calling it a strong motivation to continue his service to society.

“I am highly honoured to be presented this prestigious award. It will spur me on to do more in the society,” Usman read on his behalf.

He commended the calibre of guests and the depth of discussions at the event, particularly praising the theme: “Religion as a Tool for Peace and National Unity.”

Engineer Nimrod thanked the organisers for what he described as the highest honour of the evening, expressing appreciation for being selected as the standout personality of the year.

Known for his dual leadership roles, Nimrod is the re-elected President of the NVBF and serves as President of the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) Beach Volleyball Commission.

His contributions to sports and youth development extend beyond volleyball, having served as the immediate past president of the Kaduna State Council of the Boys’ Brigade Nigeria.

Under his leadership, volleyball in Nigeria has seen increased visibility and youth participation, particularly at the grassroots level.

He has championed initiatives like the President Beach Volleyball Cup and has awarded educational scholarships to hundreds of students, promoting the balance between sports and academics.

Nimrod’s vision for African beach volleyball is ambitious, aiming to elevate the sport to continental prominence through collaboration and strategic planning.
