A twenty six years old man simply identified as Dickson Abeto has raised the alarm over the safety of his family as police embarked on a manhunt to apprehend his mother, Rose Obehi Emaikwu over allegation of being a bisexual.

Mrs Rose Obehi Emaikwu whose whereabouts remain unknown. Source however said she may have fled the Country to evade arrest as Nigeria government intensifies effort to get rid of those engaged in bisexual.

Son of the suspected bisexual, Dickson Abeto who resides in Road 111 house 9 Efab Estate Lokogoma Abuja, raised the alarm said they now live in fear as men of the Police often visit their residence on a regular basis in search of their mother.

It was also gathered that some of the suspects’ children Emaikwu Prince Emmanuel, Emaikwu Kelvin Success and Husband, Emaikwu Edmond Edache had also fled for fear of stigmatized by the community and being apprehended by the police. Dickson was earlier attacked and bitten by some unknown people who were led to the house by Mr Samuel Emaikwu, a family member on 20th December 2024, for refusing to allow them access into the house.

Dickson Abeto narrated to newsmen that trouble started for the family when police visited to dropped a note of seeking invitation for their mother to appear for interrogation over allegation of being bisexual.

He said, “Before my mother’s sudden disappearance, she told me that she is bisexual and that she was caught with a partner at a party she attended in Benin but she was however lucky to have escaped thereafter.

“In January 3rd 2025, precisely, some policemen came to the house with a note to arrest and demanding to know her whereabouts on the allegation that she is bisexual. The visit of the Policemen created fear in our family which led my step father and other siblings to flee.

“As I speak now we no longer feel safe in our own home because we don’t what is going to happen next.

Meanwhile, the police has intensify effort to ensure the arrest and prosecution of Mrs Rose Obehi Emaikwu.

Recall that in 2014 former President Goodluck Jonathan signed the same -sex marriage bill into law. The law criminalizes public display of affection between same-sex couples.
