The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr Abbas Tajudeen, has announced that Zaria Federal Constituency will receive seven additional federal institutions in the 2025 budget.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Tajudeen made this disclosure during a Ramadan Iftar (breaking of fast) held in Zaria on Saturday.

According to him, the initiative aims to strengthen Zaria’s reputation as a hub for higher education.

The Speaker listed the institutions as the Federal College of Agriculture, the Federal Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Institute, and the Federal Technical College.

Others include the Centre for Management Development, the Technology Incubation Centre, a School for the Disabled (Primary and Secondary), and four new federal secondary schools.

Tajudeen assured constituents that more development projects with direct benefits to the people would be implemented in the 2025 fiscal year.

“With the 2025 budget now signed into law, the payment for the scholarships of 2,500 indigent students in tertiary institutions will be released soon.

“Additionally, 4,000 more students will benefit from the scheme,” he stated.

He expressed gratitude for the solidarity and support from his constituents, which he described as the foundation of his achievements in the National Assembly.

The Speaker also called for prayers for President Bola Tinubu, emphasising that such prayers could help the government tackle inflation and boost GDP growth.

He noted that, due to the holistic approach of the Tinubu-led administration, the rate of insecurity had significantly reduced.

The National Vice Chairman (North-West) of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Garba-Datti Babawo, commended Tajudeen for fostering inclusivity by engaging all legislators, regardless of party affiliation, region, or sectional differences.

Babawo urged the Speaker to maintain his exemplary leadership style, which promotes peace, progress, and harmony in the House of Representatives.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that renowned politicians, clerics, traditional rulers, business leaders, and other stakeholders in the Zaria Federal Constituency unanimously passed a vote of confidence in the Speaker.
