The PDPNYF maintained that the clamping into detention of the PDP House of Representatives candidate for Dekina/ Bassa in the 2023 general elections was the continuous muzzling of oppositions , and an attempt to truncate the growing popularity of the people’s comrade , Austin Okai.

A statement issued on Sunday by the member of the caucus, Jerome Ali stressed the need to halt the Kogi state government from further embarrassing other members of other political parties in the name of defamation and cyber stalking in the state.

He described the detention by the Kogi state government teleguided legal pronouncement as a slap on democracy and it’s norms.

While assuring the state government of victory for Comrade Austin Okai at the end, he said the attempt will not stop the opposition from demanding for accountability amidst misdemeanor of the common resources of the people of Kogi state.
