In a statement made available to journalists through its leader, Sur. Maikano Samson, in Kaduna on Friday, the group maintained that Senator Katung’s enduring legacy will undoubtedly inspire and empower future generations, and that his place in the history of Southern Kaduna is assured.

“Thank you for being an exemplary leader and a true champion of our constituency. We are eternally grateful for your vision, hard work, and foresight that have made this achievement a reality in our lifetime.

“After painstaking legislative processes to make this long-awaited dream a reality, it is heartwarming to have a federal educational presence in the senatorial zone.

“Our hearts are filled with joy to witness this landmark achievement. The social, economic, and infrastructural benefits of this institution are enormous and cannot be overemphasised.

The support group further commended the Senator for his focus and resilience against all odds, meticulously keeping his eyes on the goalpost.

“The President’s assent to the bill and the upcoming establishment of the university in September 2025 are a testament to your tireless efforts. You have accomplished all this in less than two years since you became a Senator representing the good people of our region.

“We boldly assert that this has earned you an excellent, outstanding, and uncommon scorecard in the eyes of those who have a sincere interest in the zone and those who have keenly followed the trajectory of our district, recognising you as the first Senator in the history of Southern Kaduna to advocate for the realisation of this significant project.

“It is clear for all to see that your unwavering dedication, perseverance, commitment, and leadership have at last yielded remarkable results,” the group stated.

“We wish to emphasise that your name is written in the golden books of our history, and posterity will surely be kind to you.

“The leadership and members of this group are elated by your giant stride in bringing the Federal University to our region, stressing that this is a significant victory for the people of Southern Kaduna, Kaduna State, and Nigeria as a whole.
