The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has said it is confident the senior men national basketball team, D’Tigers will pick the much-needed ticket for the 2025 Afro-basket Qualifiers.

The NBBF led by Engr. Musa Kida, noted that the importance of the qualifiers was the reason for the twin camping sessions held in Abuja and Tripoli, respectively.

NBBF media coordinator, Akerm Busari, said this in a news release issued to newsmen on Thursday in Lagos.

According to Kida, the whole basketball community in the country is solidly behind the team.

Meanwhile, there is excitement in the camp of, D’Tigers, ahead of the opening game of 2025 Afrobasket qualifiers between Nigeria and host Libya.

The Nigerian boys would be seeking a win in the game against host to bolster their chances of picking a ticket to the Afrobasket championship taking place in Cote D’Ivoire.

And with the team needing to win at least two of its games, the boys have remained upbeat about recording great results in the third window of the qualifiers.

Speaking ahead of game scheduled for Friday afternoon, coach of the team, Abdulrahman Mohammed ,expressed confidence in his boys to make Nigeria proud.

“The boys are in high spirit and are rearing to go,” he said.

Captain of the team, Ike Nwamu also expressed confidence of a good outing .

“We are ready for sure. Everyone is ready and excited for this opportunity we have to make our country proud.(NAN)
