The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshall Hasan Abubakar, has reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to national security to make the country safe for all.

Abubakar stated this at the opening of the NAF Administration Personnel Seminar, on Wednesday in Abuja.

It has the theme, “Optimizing Contemporary Human Resources to Enhance On-going Transformation Initiatives of the NAF”.

He expressed the unwavering commitment of the NAF to total defeat of terrorism and banditry, adding that relentless efforts against criminal elements were a firm determination to protect lives and restore peace.

“Let me make it clear that air power will extend the long arm of the law, bringing justice to criminals hiding in ungoverned spaces.

“We will fight, fix, and strike all those who take arms against the state.

“ I will not relax until Nigeria is safe for all,” he said.

Abubakar expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his unwavering support of the NAF.

He decried challenges such as Absence Without Leave (AWOL), drug abuse and substance misuse, as well as the negative influence of social media, which has continued to pose challenges.

He said the seminar offers a valuable opportunity to evaluate the current practices in NAF and explore innovative approaches to tackle those challenges.

The CAS encouraged all participants to think creatively and propose actionable solutions that can drive progress and advancement in the Service.

He said it was imperative to revive their efforts to computerise the NAF Personnel Management Group for seamless record-keeping and to upgrade accommodation management software to ensure efficient resource distribution.

According to him, integrating data analytics to forecast manpower needs, alongside implementing digital platforms for training and career development, would enhance decision-making, optimise resource allocation, and boost overall operational efficiency. (NAN)
