Renowned gospel musician Mercy Chinwo has publicly addressed allegations against her former manager, Ezekiel ThankGod, popularly known as “EezeeTee,” accusing him of career frustration, financial misconduct, and forgery.

The revelations were detailed in a statement issued by her legal counsel, Pelumi Olajengbesi Yesterday in Abuja.

According to the statement, Chinwo accused EezeeTee of deliberately sabotaging her career, falsifying revenue reports, and falsely claiming she had a terminal illness to discourage event organizers from engaging her.

The legal team further revealed that EezeeTee allegedly forged the terms of their management contract, replacing the original 2017 agreement with a 2019 version that granted him lifetime ownership of her works.

The gospel singer stated that the manager’s conduct took a hostile turn in 2019 when she declined to extend their five-year contract to 12 years.

“Subsequently, she experienced verbal abuse, threats, and isolation, with EezeeTee reportedly claiming, “I made you who you are…I will destroy your career.”

Chinwo also alleged that EezeeTee misled event organizers about her availability, even claiming she was terminally ill to prevent her from honoring a commitment in Edo State in October 2021.

The statement disclosed that EezeeTee misrepresented revenue splits from digital platforms, withheld publishing royalties for seven years, and falsely listed himself as the songwriter and producer of her tracks to claim additional earnings.

” An EFCC investigation revealed the unlawful retention of $274,000 from her digital earnings, which was later recovered.

Further, Chinwo accused EezeeTee of altering the original 2017 contract by replacing it with a forged 2019 document.

Her legal counsel noted that the altered document contained clauses designed to keep her in perpetual servitude.

Despite the disputes, Chinwo reportedly made efforts to reconcile, including gifting EezeeTee a brand-new SUV.

However, trust between the parties remained broken. While an initial settlement was agreed upon, EezeeTee later filed lawsuits against Chinwo, her colleague Judikay, and the EFCC, further complicating the resolution process.

The statement urged EezeeTee to clarify the discrepancies between the 2017 and 2019 contracts, stressing that Chinwo remains committed to resolving the matter amicably.
