A significant development project has been approved for Kaduna South Senatorial District, following the visit of the Lord Mayor of Leeds City and his wife, Distinguished Senator Barr. Sunday Marshall Katung.
The project is seen as a major New Year’s gift for the region.
The Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (OSSAP-SDGs) has announced the award of a contract to Messrs.
CWM Contracting Ltd for the construction of nine solar-powered boreholes with mini treatment plants.
The facilities will be installed at various strategic locations within the senatorial district, aiming to improve access to clean water.
According to a statement signed by the Head of Procurement, Usmon A. Shuaibu, the OSSAP-SDGs Tenders Board approved the project during its meeting on September 18, 2024.
The project will cost a total of ₦194,678,750 and is expected to be completed within eight weeks of contract formalization.
The boreholes will be installed at the following locations:School of Nursing,College of Education, Jema’a LGA,Federal School of Statistics, Manchok, Kaura LGA,
Antong, Kachia LGA,Zitti Community,Madakiya Central,Bakin Kasuwa Zango Urban,Zonkwa Market, Zango Kataf LGA, and
Gauta Community, Kaduna South Federal Constituency.
The statement emphasized strict adherence to the contract terms, which include no advance or interim payments and a fixed, non-transferable agreement.
The contractor is required to formally accept the offer within three days and coordinate with the Sustainable Project Unit and Legal Unit of OSSAP-SDGs for further specifications and contract formalization.
