Lt. Col. J.G. Usman, Chairman of the Committee in Honour of Engr. Musa Nimrod, praised the honoree for his unwavering dedication and visionary leadership.

“Engr. Nimrod’s soul, spirit, and body are devoted to volleyball,” Usman said, highlighting how his efforts have elevated the sport to unprecedented heights, with national teams achieving success on the international stage.

“His influence and mentoring skills are invaluable. The Volleyball Community in Kaduna State trusts his leadership, which has significantly propelled the sport’s growth and development,” Usman added.

In his acceptance speech, Nimrod expressed surprise and gratitude for the recognition.

“I am humbled by this gesture. I applaud everyone working behind the scenes for volleyball’s progress in Nigeria,” he said, emphasizing the importance of integrity in the sport.

Under Nimrod’s leadership, Nigerian volleyball has seen transformative growth. Highlights include Nigeria’s qualification for multiple international competitions, the establishment of volleyball academies in all 36 states, and the sustained hosting of national and international tournaments.

As NVBF President since 2017, Nimrod has overseen initiatives such as the Nigeria Volleyball Premier League and grassroots programs that have supported over 100 volleyball communities nationwide.
