Members of the Sector 2 Joint Task Force North West, operating under Fansan Yamma, have detained a 25-year-old woman suspected of being an ammunition courier, identified as Shamsiyya Ahadu.

This information was shared by Lt. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre for the operation, in a statement released in Gusau on Sunday.

The statement detailed that Ahadu was arrested on December 28, along with her accomplice, a motorcyclist named Ahmed Husaini, in the Badarawa area of Shinkafi Local Government Area.

The suspects were discovered with 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and six magazines intended for delivery to the notorious terrorist leader, Bello Turji’s camp.

“The arrest was made possible by an intelligence report concerning the logistics movements of the terrorists along the route from Kware to Badarawa communities in the Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State,” the statement noted.

In response to this intelligence, troops from Operation Fansan Yamma promptly set up a roadblock, leading to the successful apprehension of both suspects.

They are currently undergoing investigation by relevant authorities, as stated in the announcement.

The statement reaffirmed the troops’ dedication to dismantling terrorist networks and preventing the illegal movement of arms and ammunition within the operational area.

It also called on the public to continue providing reliable information that could assist in the capture of wanted terrorists and their associates.

The statement expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from the local community, which has been instrumental in achieving the operation’s objectives.
