In a significant announcement, Nigerian entrepreneur and politician Alhaji Saidu Ugonoh has congratulated Donald Trump on his election as the 47th President of the United States.
Based in the U.S., Ugonoh, who holds the title of Santuraki of Ebira land and previously served as the Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora Affairs to the former Speaker of the House of Representatives and the recent Governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, expressed his belief that Trump’s presidency will initiate a necessary reset for both the American economy and global stability.
Following Trump’s victory, which was solidified as he surpassed the critical threshold of 270 electoral votes, Ugonoh commended the determination and creativity of the American electorate in choosing a path that promises prosperity for both the United States and the world at large.
“I am thrilled to congratulate Mr. Donald Trump on his victory as the 47th President of the United States,” Ugonoh stated. “I predicted his success more than two years ago, and even as recently as July, when Kamala Harris was selected as Biden’s running mate, I maintained that she would be an easier opponent for Trump.”
Ugonoh had anticipated that Trump would secure over 270 electoral votes, potentially reaching 290 in a landslide victory. “Today’s results affirm my predictions, which hold significant implications not just for Americans but for Africa and the global community,” he added.
He emphasized the importance of supporting Trump’s administration, asserting, “Once elections conclude in America, citizens typically unite to allow the government to fulfill its promises. I am confident that Trump’s leadership will not only make America great but will also benefit the world.”
Ugonoh highlighted Trump’s commitment to resolving key international conflicts, including the ongoing war in Gaza and the Russia-Ukraine crisis, which carry crucial global ramifications. “The American economy and border security are pressing domestic issues that Trump is poised to address effectively,” he noted.
In his message, Ugonoh celebrated Trump’s achievements and stressed the need for a return to global stability. “America requires a leader like Trump at this juncture, as does the world,” he stated.
He further reflected on the electoral process, underscoring that elections in the United States are won based on the pressing concerns and aspirations of the populace rather than emotional narratives. “The best candidates emerge victorious, and today’s outcome serves as a valuable lesson for other nations, particularly in Africa and Nigeria. It is essential to allow the most qualified candidates to prevail, and if they fail to meet public expectations, they should be held accountable,” Ugonoh concluded, reiterating the principles of democracy where the performance of leaders is paramount.
