In a significant move, Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has formed a five-member committee tasked with investigating allegations of infidelity against Mr. Auwal Sankara, the Commissioner for Special Duties.

The announcement was made by Mr. Bala Ibrahim, the Secretary to the State Government, in a statement released on Sunday from Dutse.

Reports indicate that Mr. Sankara was apprehended by the Kano Hisbah in an incomplete building, where he was allegedly discovered in the company of a married woman. However, Sankara has categorically rejected these claims.

Ibrahim emphasized the seriousness of the allegations, stating that they have raised substantial concerns for the state government. He noted that media coverage of the situation has resulted in considerable embarrassment and tarnished the reputation of the state administration.

“The government feels it necessary to establish a committee to thoroughly investigate these claims,” he stated.

The committee will be chaired by Malam Bala Ibrahim, the Secretary to the State Government. It is expected to deliver its findings within two weeks. Other members include the Commissioners for Information, Mr. Sagir Musa; Basic Education, Mr. Lawal Danzomo; and Special Adviser on Security Matters, Mr. Usman Muhammed.

Furthermore, reports from NAN reveal that Sankara was allegedly detained by the Kano Hisbah while with a married woman in an uncompleted structure. In response, Sankara issued a statement on Thursday asserting that the claims of his arrest are unfounded and intended to damage his established political career.

Meanwhile, Mr. Abba Sufi, the Director-General of the Hisbah Commission in Kano, confirmed that Sankara is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
