The member representing Kachia/Kagarko Federal Constituency, Gabriel Zock, disclosed this on Saturday at the 20th anniversary celebration of the Gbagyi people, thanksgiving/ book launch, and foundation inauguration held at Iddah community, in Kagarko Local Government.

The lawmaker hailed the passage of the bill and hoped that it would scale the second reading by next week and soon be calling for a public hearing.

“Before May next year 2025, Kagarko Local Government will get a Federal College of Agriculture and this institution will make contributions to sustainable development in the area and improve the living conditions of the people.

“The proposed institution will also be a center stage for education and research. It will attract more investors to stimulate economic activities.

“I am keen on supporting education in my constituency. That’s why I am sponsoring this bill because 99 percent are farmers,” Zock stated.

He urged the Chief of Koro, Mr. Yohanna Akaito, to synergize with other traditional rulers for the siting of the institution.

Similarly, the lawmaker pledged to build a town hall for the Iddah community in honour of the outgoing Executive Chairman, Nasara Rabo, for his exemplary leadership in the local government.

Meanwhile, the lawmaker donated N2 million cash to the Divisional Police Officer of Tafa, as a way of showing gratitude for combating banditry in the local government.

In his remarks, Rabo said he has accomplished the task of providing essential services to the people in the area.

“We have given a good account of stewardship in the execution of our mandate in the past six years of our administration. The positive feedback from the people has further strengthened our determination to get things done right,” he said.
