Flood : Sen. Bomai donates N20m, relief materials to Yobe flood victims

Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai, representing Yobe South Senatorial District, has provided relief support to victims of flood in five wards of Potiskum and Nangere local government areas.

The affected wards are Nangere, Chukuriwa, Dogonini, Yerimaram, and Barebari-Bauya-Lailai ward.

Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai who was represented by Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed (Ibbiyo) donated the sum of N20,000,000, 500 wrappers, 1000 blankets, and 1000 children’s wears to the flood victims.

In his remarks, at the occasion of distribution of the relief support, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed, on behalf of Senator Bomai sympathized with the flood victims and admonished them to consider what has happened to them as a natural disaster but not the liking of any one.

 

He said ”It is sad that the floods have caused immense suffering to you and our hearts go to each and every one of for this calamity and said the gesture from Senator Bomai exhibits his kindness and concern as a true representative of his people”.

He further said the gesture from the Senator is to bring some level of support to alleviate their immediate burden as a vital step towards their recovery while he has since contacted NEMA to come to the rescue and support of the flood victims. He prayed to the Almighty Allah to avert future occurrence of such disasters.
