A prominent constituent from Yobe South Senatorial District, Yakubu Mohammed Babayo, has dismissed as laughable recent calls for the recall of Senator Ibrahim Bomoi from the National Assembly.

Babayo, an active political player and dedicated member of the district, described the recall attempt as baseless and rooted in selfish motives rather than genuine community development.

According to Babayo, Senator Bomoi has consistently delivered on his promises, bringing the dividends of democracy to the people of Yobe South through various constituency projects, human capacity building initiatives, and empowerment programs.

He argued that these achievements reflect Bomoi’s dedication to the district and questioned the legitimacy of the recall effort, given the senator’s ongoing contributions.

Babayo suggested that the push to recall Bomoi may be politically motivated, linked to his potential candidacy for the Yobe State governorship in 2027.

He criticized those behind the recall as “unscrupulous elements” focused on personal gain rather than the community’s well-being.

Babayo also highlighted that recalls are typically pursued when a lawmaker fails to perform, which is not the case with Senator Bomoi.

“His stewardship has been laudable, with effective project delivery, active engagement with constituents, and a strong track record in service delivery,” Babayo noted.

He urged the people of Yobe South to disregard the recall attempt, emphasizing the importance of continued development and quality representation.

Senator Bomoi, who also serves as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has maintained close ties with Yobe South residents, both in the FCT and at home.

Babayo concluded by reaffirming Bomoi’s commitment to his constituents and urged them to support the senator’s ongoing efforts to bring development to the region.
