A total of 702 members from the Labour Party, APGA, PRP, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have pledged their support to the APC in the upcoming Local Government elections on October 19. This development took place at the Monday Market in Kakuri Gwari, where the defectors were warmly received by the Local Government Party Chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Soso, and former Senator Sen. Lawal Aliyu (Silver), who chaired the occasion.

Hon. Ibrahim Soso, the Kaduna-South Local Government APC party Chairman, expressed confidence in the party’s victory in Kaduna-South and emphasized that the opposition PDP is no longer a formidable force in the area. He assured the defectors of equal opportunities within the APC and encouraged them to rally behind all the APC candidates in the upcoming elections.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Comrd. Ayok Danboyi, a former candidate for Makera State House of Assembly Constituency, and Yunana Bala, a prominent member of the PDP, cited the leadership style of Hon. Nehemiah Baba-Karik, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Local Government, and Governor Uba Sani as the driving force behind their decision to join the APC. They noted that the continuous depletion of their parties’ membership in Kaduna-South indicated the impending extinction of the main opposition party even before the Local Government general elections. They pledged to work tirelessly in preparation for the upcoming elections.

Hon. Nehemiah Baba-Karik, the Executive Vice Chairman of Kaduna-South Local Government Area, commended the defectors for their wise decision and assured them that they would be fully integrated into the party’s activities. He emphasized that Governor Uba Sani has shown remarkable leadership and commitment to good governance, ensuring that no one is left behind.
