In a significant show of solidarity, 100 civil society groups in Nigeria, united under the United for Greater Nigeria Coalition (UGNC), have pledged their unwavering support to President Bola Tinubu’s administration. The coalition, recognizing the administration’s remarkable progress in key sectors and the implementation of impactful reforms by some ministers, has decided to bypass any negative criticism or demonstration against the government.

UGNC commends ministers Festus Keyamo, Abubakar Kyari, and Joseph Terlumun Utsev for their innovative ideas and pragmatic approaches, which have positively impacted the lives of the masses. The coalition believes that these achievements, accomplished within just one year of Tinubu’s administration, have rendered any opposition futile.

In a joint statement by Comrade Timothy Achaluda and Abubakar Babangida Abubakar, the co-coveners of UGNC, they express their unanimous decision to boycott the planned mass protests against President Tinubu’s administration. This decision is the result of careful evaluation of the administration’s performance, which far exceeded expectations.

Among the ministers, Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, deserves special recognition. Under his leadership, the aviation sector has been revitalized and the ministry has undergone a transformation, thanks to his innovative ideas. Keyamo’s efforts have improved infrastructure and restored dignity to the nation’s airports.

H.E. Abubakar Kyari, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, has revolutionized farming in Nigeria. His promotion of all-year-round farming initiatives is a crucial step towards addressing food and nutrition security.

The pragmatic approach of Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev, the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, in solving the country’s surface and groundwater challenges, has catalyzed socio-economic growth and prosperity.

The remarkable performances of these ministers demonstrate that President Tinubu’s administration is on the right track. However, they require a little more time to fulfill the aspirations of the masses. UGNC expresses satisfaction with the progress made in these key sectors and strongly opposes any attempts to hinder the positive impact created by Keyamo, Utsev, and Kyari.

The coalition has reliable information that the planned mass protests, which allegedly aim to address poor governance in Nigeria, are orchestrated by individuals with hidden agendas. UGNC asserts that these protests do not genuinely reflect the will of the people, but rather pose a reckless threat to incite violence, sow disorder, and distract the government from addressing the people’s priorities.

Therefore, UGNC calls upon Nigerians, especially the youth, to reject these protests and instead continue to support the Tinubu administration’s efforts to lead Nigeria towards a prosperous future.

In light of the situation, UGNC urges the police and other relevant agencies to remain vigilant and prevent any disruption of law and order during the planned mass protests. It is essential to ensure that the protests do not descend into chaos and violence.

UGNC reiterates its call for Nigerians to provide the necessary support and time for the Tinubu administration to implement its policies, which are designed to benefit all citizens. Together, we can build a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
