The Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund (AECF) has embarked on an exciting new initiative to promote solar solutions and stimulate green employment in Burkina Faso.
The “Promotion of Solar Solutions to Stimulate Green Employment in Burkina Faso” (PROSSEV-BF) project, funded by the Luxembourg Cooperation through LuxDev, aims to revolutionize the way businesses operate in the region.
A Boost for Green Economy
This EUR 1.7 million project seeks to transform the production facilities of local companies by adopting solar technologies, creating jobs and promoting sustainable development. The initiative will primarily focus on the Centre and Hauts-Bassins regions of Burkina Faso, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small and medium-sized industries in various sectors, including agriculture, agribusiness, and value chains.
Empowering Businesses, Creating Jobs
The project aims to benefit a wide range of SMEs, creating 175 new direct and indirect jobs within the companies and their value chains. Selected companies will receive performance-based grants and technical assistance to enhance operational efficiency and achieve project goals. By facilitating access to finance for solar installations, AECF is empowering businesses to adopt clean energy solutions that drive innovation and sustainability.
A Collaborative Effort
The PROSSEV-BF project is a testament to the power of collaboration in achieving sustainable growth. AECF and LuxDev are working together to provide the necessary resources and support to SMEs, ensuring they can thrive while adopting environmentally friendly practices. The project aligns perfectly with Luxembourg Cooperation’s goal of promoting sustainable development and reducing environmental footprints.
A Brighter Future for Burkina Faso
The PROSSEV-BF project represents a significant step towards sustainable economic growth in Burkina Faso. By harnessing the power of solar energy, businesses can reduce their environmental impact, improve their economic resilience, and contribute to a greener and more inclusive economy.
