Ohanaeze Youth Describes Uzodimma As Prodigal Governor

The apex socio-cultural Igbo youth organization, Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), has described the executive Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, as an Imo prodigal Governor.

Speaking to newsmen in Owerri, the national President of Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, described Hope Uzodimma’s outing for the 52nd convocation lecture of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, as a futile event that amounts to a waste of state funds.

Comrade Igboayaka opined that Hope Uzodimma’s mobilization of over 2000 idle and hungry Imolites to Nsukka to cheer him up is a demonstration of prodigality, wasting state funds all in an attempt to receive an unmerited Honorary Doctorate award.

“Such funds could have been judiciously used for meaningful projects in the State, or even used as palliative at this time when hunger is affecting over 80% of Imolites,” Comrade Igboayaka stated.

Unfortunately, Hope Uzodimma, whose O’level certificate is still in contention and in doubt at the ongoing Guber tribunal case, spent over one billion naira (1b) to receive an honorary doctorate certificate.

Unfortunately, Prof Charles Arinze Igwe, the Vice Chancellor of UNN, has derailed from the track of academic excellence of the notable and noble University of Nigeria Nsukka by bestowing its prestigious Honorary Doctorate degree award on Hope Uzodimma, whose academic history has been a subject of litigations and is currently being contested at the Imo State Government Election Tribunal panel.

Comrade Igboayaka calls on the National University Commission (NUC) to set up a Panel of inquiry to investigate Prof Charles Arinze Igwe on the money-induced award he gave to Hope Uzodimma, who lacks both academic prerequisites and character to receive such an honorary doctorate award.

Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka frowned at the call of Hope Uzodimma to derobe and probe corrupt lecturers at the University of Nigeria Nsukka, describing the statement as a call by a political hypocrite and sycophant who has misappropriated and embezzled the local Government Allocation for 4 years of his administration. Hope Uzodimma is simply an epitome of corruption among the political leaders in the Southeast; therefore, he lacks the political moral ground to demand the probe of corrupt lecturers.

“Unfortunately, Gov. Hope Uzodimma, a political shenanigan, incompetent, mediocre, and political profiteer, asked the Nigerian lecturers to emulate their counterparts in the Western world but has failed woefully to emulate his counterparts in the Western world on selfless service and quality leadership to the people,” Comrade Igboayaka concluded.
