Bello El-Rufai, son of the former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has revealed that he had asked his brother, Bashir El-Rufai, to delete a post criticizing the current Governor, Uba Sani.
In a statement, Bello emphasized the importance of unity within the political sphere and expressed his unwavering loyalty to Governor Uba Sani.
Bello acknowledged that political rivalries often lead to unnecessary conflicts and stated that he, as a mediator, aims to promote peace and harmony.
Bello who is a member of the House of Representatives, explained how he contacted his younger brother from another Mother to stop an unnecessary attack on the Governor Uba Sani who is the leader of the state.
Bello even hinted at a potential meeting with Governor Uba Sani later that evening, highlighting his commitment to fostering positive relationships within the political landscape.
Recalling a recent incident, Bello disclosed that he had urged his brother to refrain from posting a contentious tweet.
However, Bashir, who seems not to have contested any political office before and does not understand loyalty and practical politics, refused to comply with Bello’s request, asserting his independence despite being over 30 years old.
Bello urged people to avoid confusing their social media accounts, as their opinions may differ.
In a show of loyalty and respect for Governor Uba Sani, Bello declared that he would never publicly criticize him.
Bello expressed gratitude for the governor’s guidance, as he had been instrumental in securing his first government job and supporting his election campaign as a member of the House of Representatives.
Bello commended the impressive rural development initiatives taking place in Kaduna State under Governor Uba Sani’s leadership.
Bello acknowledged that Nigeria, as a whole, is facing financial constraints, not just Kaduna State.
He emphasized that leaders are elected to make the best use of available resources and drive improvement.
Highlighting the importance of transparency, Bello stressed that it is the governor’s duty to keep the citizens informed about the state’s financial condition.
He clarified that even though the outgoing governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, had mentioned the amount of money left in the state during his farewell speech, added that it is ultimately the responsibility of the current governor to provide transparency and accountability.
Bello also reassured the public that Governor Uba Sani remains unfazed by social media attacks and affirmed that the governor’s decisions were not influenced by criticism from certain individuals.
