Amid heightened security measures in the Zango-Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, over 5 schools in vulnerable communities have resumed operations, marking a significant turnaround in the region’s educational landscape.

Mr. Samson Kasson, the Education Secretary of Zango-Kataf Local Government Area, unveiled the reopening initiative, attributing it to the concerted efforts to address insecurity by the Kaduna State Government.

Reeling from years of instability, Zango-Kataf had witnessed the closure of several educational institutions due to rampant insecurity.

However, strategic security interventions championed by the state governor have facilitated the reopening of public schools, signalling a promising shift in the region’s security dynamics.

Security Progress Prompts Reopening: Mr. Kasson highlighted the efficacy of the security strategies implemented by Governor Uba Sani, emphasising the palpable improvement in the security landscape that has paved the way for school resumption.

With the restoration of a semblance of security, many displaced families have returned to their homes, consequently bolstering school enrollment rates across the affected communities.

Despite the reopening, a shortage of teaching staff posed a significant challenge. However, Governor Uba Sani’s administration has approved the recruitment of over 10,000 teachers, a move applauded by Mr. Kasson as pivotal in bridging the staffing deficit.

To mitigate the teacher shortage in vulnerable communities, volunteer recruitment initiatives have been launched, ensuring that educational opportunities are extended to all children, regardless of their circumstances.

Expressing unwavering support for Governor Uba Sani’s vision, Mr. Kasson underscored the collective commitment to providing quality education and fostering a secure environment for the region’s children.
