Fakai made this declaration during the groundbreaking ceremony of the Vocational and Technology Skills Hub in Samaru Kataf, Zango-Kataf Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

Fakai emphasized the need for the state to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the tech sector to address various societal challenges and create avenues for youth empowerment, ultimately driving economic development.

Fakai stated, “The time has come for us to leverage the advantages of the tech industry and equip our youths with relevant, high-quality skills that meet market demands, enhancing their employability and promoting self-employment.”

The Commissioner expressed optimism about the state’s prospects under the dynamic leadership of His Excellency, Sen Uba Sani, stating, “With these initiatives, things can only get better in the state.”

She also mentioned that similar projects have been undertaken in Rigachikun, with plans for a third center in Soba in coming days.

The Kaduna State Vocational and Technology Skills Acquisition City (KAD-VTSAC) Project, initiated by Governor Uba Sani, aims to empower individuals from all walks of life with essential skills to thrive in the technology-driven global landscape. Fakai emphasized that the project aligns with the Governor’s commitment, as outlined in his “Sustain Agenda,” to equip the state’s youth with the necessary skills, quality education, knowledge, and competencies to excel in the 21st-century job market.

Fakai extended her gratitude to the Kaduna State Vocational and Technology Skills Development Council and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for their collaboration in producing the KAD-VTSAC strategy document. She also thanked public and private actors advocating for the recognition of technical education’s contribution to national development.
