In the heart of Akoko South-West, Ondo State, leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have enthusiastically thrown their weight behind Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s bid for the party’s gubernatorial ticket.

As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) sets April 2024 for primary elections, anticipation heightens for the forthcoming November gubernatorial election in Ondo.

In a resounding show of support, party stalwarts convened at the Oka Akoko Town Hall on Sunday, underscoring Aiyedatiwa’s leadership potential and urging him to steer Ondo State’s destiny beyond 2024.

Addressing the gathering, former Deputy Majority Leader and seasoned Senator, Ajayi Boroffice, lauded Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to delivering tangible dividends of democracy.

Boroffice, represented by former House of Representatives member, Hon. Ade Adeogun, cautioned party members against detractors and urged vigilance as the state braces for elections.

Highlighting Aiyedatiwa’s swift actions since assuming office, Boroffice cited achievements in salary payments, pension gratuity disbursements, infrastructure development, and educational reforms, underscoring the governor’s dedication to progress.

Expressing gratitude for Aiyedatiwa’s appointments of local sons into key positions, Boroffice urged sustained efforts towards the betterment of the populace.

The overwhelming endorsement of Aiyedatiwa’s political aspirations across the 15 wards of the local government reflects confidence in the governor’s leadership.

The gathering also saw the presence of notable figures such as former Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Victor Olabimtan, and key advisers to the governor, Hon. Olugbenga Omole and Mr. Johnson Alabi, alongside esteemed party chieftains.
