Hon Francis Waive, the Chairman of the House Committee on Rules and Business, disclosed a lineup of bills, encompassing both private member and executive bills.

Among these is the “Bill for an Act to amend the Professional Bodies (Special Provision) Act, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.”

In addition to legislative bills, urgent matters of national significance have garnered attention, including the necessity for decisive action against health facilities refusing treatment to accident or gunshot victims without police reports.

Other motions address issues such as the disproportionate distribution of electricity supply in Kebbi State, environmental degradation in the Irri Kingdom of Isoko South LGA of Delta State, and the violation of the Petroleum Industry Act by Nigerian AGIP Oil company Limited.

Moreover, concerns regarding the breach of the Appropriation Act by government agencies in executing capital projects will be addressed.

The Chamber also seeks to investigate the issuance of National Identity Cards from 2012 onwards, award contracts for the construction of the Akwanga – Jos – Bauchi – Gombe Road, and ensure the implementation of global best practices in the National Policy of Education.

Additionally, there is a call to curb the abuse of sirens on Nigeria’s roads.

However, amidst these pressing matters, the contentious issue of relocating the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) departments and the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) headquarters to Lagos remains unconfirmed for discussion under matters of urgent national importance.
