Residents of Sagbagyi 11, Dutse in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory have lamented the deplorable state of the road connecting the community to other parts of the area.
The residents who spoke with our correspondent disclosed that they have been subjected to undue hardship because of the deplorable conditions of the road.
Our correspondent who visited the community observed a dusty and bad road and also an erosion prone bridge that may collapse when the rain begins.
A concerned citizen who’s the president, Christian-Muslim Love Lead and Care Foundation, Bishop Ugokwe Prince said, “The problem with this road is asphalt. If the government can work on the road, it will prevent water from staying on the road and causing erosion. The government should help us fix this road urgently before the raining season.”
Another resident Mr Ugele Ikechukwu Jude, who also is the chairman of the community explained that the people have been responsible for fixing the roads for years. He added that the situation gets worst during the rainy season.
“We, residents, are appealing to the Area Council Chairman to come to our aid,” he said.
” Anytime from now, the bridge linking us with other community would collapse and we wouldn’t have nowhere to go. We want the council chairman to use his good office has he has continued to do in other areas to come to our aid. We need this before the rain starts,” he appealed.
The community urges the government to assist in other areas so that there would be massive infrastructural growth in their community.
