In a candid revelation on Biola Bayo’s Talk2B podcast, Nollywood actress Olaide Oyedeji disclosed that enduring years of bullying propelled her towards opting for body enhancement surgery, unveiling the motivations behind her decision.
Oyedeji, who has undergone two surgeries to achieve what she calls “a too-perfect body,” traced her desire for transformation back to the age of 15.
Despite the societal pressure and relentless bullying, she embraced the decision as a crucial step in excelling in her career.
Reflecting on her tumultuous journey, Oyedeji admitted, “I had always wanted to transform my body. I am not going to lie.
Growing up, I have never had a flat tummy. This is the first time in my whole life that I am having it.” The actress expressed her determination to overcome insecurities and societal expectations.
Driven by the aspiration to excel in her field, Oyedeji recognized the significance of enhancing her physique. She noted, “It is a part of being good at my field.
Because it adds value.” Despite the initial criticisms, she persevered, emphasizing that the criticism transformed from body-shaming to shaming her for having a flawless physique.
Recalling her teenage years, Oyedeji shared the intense bullying she faced in school and on social media.
“At a point, my body went much more when I gave birth. My stomach got bigger. My breast was sagging. My teeth were still scattered.”
The relentless scrutiny didn’t deter her, as she listed out the aspects she was bullied for and took proactive steps to address them.
