In Bwari (Abuja), on January 3, 2023, Mr John Gabaya, the dedicated chairman of the Bwari Area Council in the FCT, emphatically declared that security would remain the pivotal point of focus for his administration throughout 2024.

Amidst the New Year celebrations, Chairman Gabaya, addressing the council’s residents, not only commended their display of tolerance and peaceful co-existence but also reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to delivering democratic dividends to the communities.

In his address, Gabaya underscored the significance of the council’s security, highlighting the challenges faced by the residents in 2023 due to attacks by bandits and terrorists.

He assured the community of collaborative efforts with relevant agencies to significantly reduce such incidents in 2024, extending gratitude to the military and security agencies involved in the fight against insecurity.

Expressing gratitude, Chairman Gabaya thanked traditional rulers, elder statesmen, religious leaders, party chieftains, and the community for their steadfast support and prayers.

He reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to serving and building a future that aligns with the collective desires of the council.

Gabaya pledged the council’s dedication to completing ongoing projects before the end of his second tenure, emphasizing the achievements made despite economic challenges.

With support from the FCT minister, the council aimed to be a model for economic development and good governance.

Encouraging citizens to be responsible, Chairman Gabaya urged them to contribute, no matter how small, to the improvement of the district.

He outlined the objective for the year: to ensure the realization of programs and projects within the next 12 months, aligning with the aspirations of the people and enhancing the overall quality of life in the council.

Progress in 2023 and Vision for 2024
Reflecting on 2023, Gabaya highlighted the progress in executing developmental projects with significant socio-economic impact.

Initiatives included road constructions, renovation projects, and efforts to address critical concerns such as peace, security, education, and healthcare.

Closing his address, Chairman Gabaya emphasized the administration’s commitment to creating a new Bwari Area Council in 2024.
