In anticipation of the Christmas and New Year celebrations, the Sokoto State government generously distributed a sum of N25 million alongside essential food items to resident communities, bringing warmth and joy to the festive season.

Hajiya Maryam D’Mass, the Special Adviser to Gov. Ahmed Aliyu on Resident Community and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), spearheaded the inauguration of this benevolent distribution. Underlining its purpose to alleviate economic challenges faced by society, D’Mass expressed satisfaction with the administration’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of all Sokoto citizens.

Reassuring the resident community, D’Mass affirmed equal treatment, emphasizing that every citizen in the state would be treated with parity.

The distribution plan encompasses 25 groups, with each group set to receive 10 bags of 50kg rice, 10 cartons of spaghetti, five 25-liter jerry cans of vegetable oil, and a cash amount of N1 million.

Inclusivity takes center stage as the distribution extends to 25 groups, fostering equality and ensuring no community is left untouched by the spirit of generosity.

Expressing gratitude, the special adviser extended thanks to the governor and Sen. Aliyu Wamakko (APC-Sokoto) for the privilege to serve the state and its resident community.

Mr. Olubunmi Dare, Chairman of the Association of Communities Resident in Sokoto (ACORS), echoed appreciation for the state government’s concern and support for their members.

Emphasizing the need for maintaining the current peaceful environment in the state, Mr. Olubunmi Dare urged all resident communities to uphold the spirit of peace and cooperation.
