Amidst the aftermath of the Kaduna bombing that claimed over 100 lives in Tudun Biri, a surprising twist unfolds as the community disowns a controversial N33 billion compensation suit against the Federal Government.
The leaders of Tudun Biri, during a visit to Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, expressed their disapproval of the legal action filed by Dalhatu Salihu on their behalf.
Leaders of the community, including the village head Malam Balarabe Garba, vehemently disclaimed any association with Dalhatu Salihu.
“We don’t know anyone by that name, and he is not from the community,” asserted Malam Balarabe Garba.
The community leaders emphasized their satisfaction with the actions taken by the Federal Government and the support received from the Kaduna state government.
In addition to disowning the lawsuit, the village head appealed to the government for further assistance.
He specifically highlighted the presence of unemployed graduates within the community, urging the authorities to consider providing them with job opportunities.
Despite the unexpected legal turmoil, the leaders expressed gratitude for the support received and acknowledged the various promises made by both the Federal Government and the Kaduna state government.
Leaders from both religious communities, including Reverend Musa Saidu representing Christians and Chief Imam Malam Ashiru Ja’afaru, united in their appreciation for the government’s response.
Reverend Musa Saidu emphasized their unity and solidarity, stating, “On behalf of Christians in Tudun Biri, we have not mandated anyone to take the government to court.”
Chief Imam Malam Ashiru Ja’afaru echoed similar sentiments, asserting that the community did not authorize any legal action and urged the government to identify and prosecute the individual responsible.
Responding to the community’s concerns, Governor Senator Uba Sani acknowledged attempts to politicize the incident and assured the community of ongoing government support.
He emphasized the need for a committee to oversee the distribution of donated funds, ensuring direct assistance to affected families.
Governor Uba Sani also praised the community’s resilience in resisting efforts to create discord based on religious or political motives.
